Actor Lee Do Hyun has won the 'New Male Actor of the Year' award.
On May 20, the Directors Guild of Korea (DGK) held the '23rd Directors Cut Awards'. Directors Kim Cho Hee and Bong Man Dae hosted the event, which presented awards across a total of 13 categories.
Lee Do Hyun received the New Male Actor award in the film category. He gave a passionate performance as Bong Gil in the film 'Exhuma', perfectly portraying a rookie shaman who chants spells.
He also drew attention for his visual transformation. In the film, he had tattoos covering his entire body and wore his hair tied up. His bold image shift and genre-defying role captivated the screen.

He tasted the joy of winning just seven days after being discharged from the military. While still serving last year, he also won 'Best New Actor' in the film category at the '60th Baeksang Arts Awards'.
In fact, 'Exhuma' won a total of four awards at this year’s ceremony. In addition to Lee Do Hyun, Kim Go Eun (Best Actress) and director Jang Jae Hyun (Best Director, Best Screenplay) also took home trophies.
The Directors' Cut Awards are determined through direct voting by members of the Directors Guild of Korea. Awards are given in both film and series categories.
Meanwhile, Lee Do Hyun will kick off his Asia fan meeting tour 'RE: Lee Do Hyun' on June 14–15 at Sungshin Women's University Woonjung Green Campus in Seoul. He will then meet fans in eight other cities, including Jakarta, Osaka, Tokyo, Taipei, Bangkok, Hong Kong, and Manila.
