Singer Lee Hyori has shared a moment of reflection as she expressed her affection for the girl group SPICA, a group she personally helped bring to life.

On May 20, Lee Hyori posted two nostalgic photos on her Instagram Story, accompanied by a short caption that read, "Suddenly miss them." The images showed the members of SPICA posing for an album photo shoot, evoking memories of their debut era.

SPICA debuted in 2012 and quickly caught attention for their strong vocal abilities, with each member recognized for having main vocalist-level talent. 

The group was closely associated with Lee Hyori, who played an active role in their production and promotion. She often referred to the members as her "five daughters," reflecting her deep connection with the group.

Despite their vocal strengths, SPICA struggled to achieve mainstream success. Rather than highlighting their individual vocal colors, the group released songs that followed a more uniform, clear-toned style. This limited their ability to showcase their diversity. 

Additionally, their album concepts lacked consistency, making it difficult for the group to establish a strong identity. As their popularity waned and music releases became infrequent, Spica eventually entered a long hiatus and unofficially disbanded.

Lee Hyori, after marrying singer-songwriter Lee Sang Soon in 2013, spent the past 11 years living in Jeju Island. In late 2023, she moved back to the Pyeongchang-dong neighborhood in Seoul, hinting at a new chapter in her life.
