The latest episode of comedian Kim Dae Hee’s YouTube talk show features ITZY’s Yuna and Chaeryeong, and they talk about how they started their idol careers.
Yuna mentions that she was street-casted. When she was young, their family only had a TV in the master bedroom, so she rarely watched TV. As she followed her sister to the concert of her sister’s favorite idol group, BTOB, she received a name card from the JYP Entertainment's casting team on her way to the restroom. She then went for the audition and spent three years as a trainee before successfully debuting with ITZY.

Yuna adds on that the only show she watched TV as a kid was ‘Gag Concert’, a skit-comedy show. She once aspired to be a comedian, as she thought it would be nice to have a job that brings people laughter.

On the other hand, Chaeryeong is famously known for her venture into the entertainment industry through the talent show ‘K-Pop Star’, where she auditioned with her sister Chae Yeon, who debuted with IZ*ONE and is now a solo singer. She eventually became a trainee in JYP, and debuted with ITZY five years after.

Meanwhile, ITZY recently made a comeback with the mini-album ‘Girls Will Be Girls’.
