On February 12th, Son Na-Eun, a former member of the girl group Apink, reported that her personal phone had been hacked. Her agency, YG Entertainment, confirmed the incident, revealing that the hacker had demanded money in exchange for not releasing illegally obtained data.
YG Entertainment stated, “The hacker demanded money under the condition of not disclosing the illegally collected data. Son Na Eun, not wanting to cause harm to her family and acquaintances, initially complied with the demand.”
However, the agency continued, “The hacker did not stop there and has since continued to demand additional money while threatening her further. The situation has caused significant emotional distress, with the hacker even reaching out to her family.”
The police are currently investigating the case, and the agency has announced plans to take strong legal action against any criminal activities related to the invasion of privacy and extortion.
YG Entertainment also urged caution, requesting that the public refrain from reporting unverified facts while the official investigation is ongoing.
Son Na Eun, born in 1994, is currently 31 years old. She debuted in 2011 as a member of Apink before leaving the group in 2022. She has since joined YG Entertainment and is pursuing an acting career.
